Bought, checked and packed at origin
Our own teams in China, Dubai, Istanbul, Mumbai and Washington DC meet the supplier, check the goods, collect them and consolidate them in our warehouse. You deal with a Silent Ocean colleague, not an agent you have never met.
Booked, shipped and watched at sea
We book space by sea or air, full container or shared, and track the vessel every day. The paperwork for Tanzania is prepared while the cargo is still on the water, so nothing waits at the quay.
Cleared at the Port of Dar es Salaam
Our customs team in Dar es Salaam lodges the declarations, settles duties with you in advance and clears the container. The same people who shipped it are the ones clearing it.
Handed over inside the group
The container leaves the busy port and moves straight to Kilimanjaro ICD, our own dry port. The handover is between two teams of the same group, on the same reference, with no new paperwork for you.
Stored, inspected and released at KICD
At the yard the container is logged at the gate, stored, opened for inspection or devanned, and released when you are ready. Empty containers go back to the shipping line from here.
Delivered to the door
Trucks take the goods to Kariakoo, our Chang'ombe warehouse, Mwanza, Dodoma or straight to your premises. You see one status from the first call to the signed delivery note.

Moving containers from the port to our own depot frees them from quay congestion and puts them in a yard where the gate, the storage and the inspection are all run by the group. Our forwarding team plans each move before the vessel berths.
